Tong Ren Therapy has been developed by Tom Tam, who runs a clinic in Boston, and has written many books as well as taught many practitioners and teachers. It is a highly effective healing approach.
The following selections from the WWW point to some key sources of information about these practices.
Chad Dupuis brought this approach to VT. I visited with Tom Tam in his clinic for the first time on 1/7/2011, to ensure we can apply the latest techniques.
Since there are many connections between Tong Ren Therapy and Reiki, these practices are used together and training for both is provided through the Reiki Club at VT.
If you want to learn to practice Reiki (which like tai chi does not require any specific religious belief), see my page on learning Reiki.
If you are connected with Virginia Tech, or are in the area of Blacksburg, Virginia, USA, you are encouraged to attend any of the weekly meetings of the Reiki Club at VT, where there is free training about both Reiki and Tong Ren Therapy as well as help with healing issues (pain or other physical/emotional/mental difficulties). These meetings also are listed among the Tong Ren Therapy Guinea Pig classes that are held worldwide. Some are listed by Tom Tam, who developed the method. This approach was introduced in Blacksburg by Chad Dupuis who studied with Tom Tam; he runs a clinic in Chattanooga.
