David Conn" Subject: Nominations for Members of Visiting Team To: TRAD-L@LISTSERV.VT.EDU As you may recall, the Self-Study Visiting Team will have two components: an audit team (which will conduct an audit based upon our institutional effectiveness report) and a consulting team (which will consult with us about -- NOT sit in judgement on -- our strategic report). The audit team will be nominated by SACS (with an opportunity for us to object). On the other hand, we do have an opportunity to nominate members of the consulting team. We should think of people who can be of help to us. They need not come from the SACS region, but please keep in mind that we will have to pay for their travel! (Note, however, that the visit is now planned to start on Sunday March 15 1998, meaning that we should be able to take advantage of cheap airline fares since team members will be expected to arrive on the Saturday.) What we will gain is free advice! So we might as well make the most of it. The only snag is that team members can come just once. SACS will not pay for additional visits, and we are not permitted to do so because it might be seen as a conflict-of-interest! Right now I would like to solicit from you possible nominations.
