It somes from a study of non-returning students. (Thanks to Sharon Shrader of IRPA for finding this needle in the haystack on short notice.) Satisfaction with faculty and an opportunity to interact with them had a significant impact on both those students who left for academic reasons and those who left for social concerns. Improving this interaction would have a positive impact on the 200 or so students who leave for academic reasons and also on the 100 or so who leave for social/cultural concerns. ############################################################################## Cathryn T.
