Probable Relevance Ranking

The Probable Relevance Ranking of documents retrieved during a
search predicts the likelihood of usefulness of those retrieved
documents. The results of the Probable Relevance Ranking are,
in part, displayed in the Bar Chart Window which indicates the
top 50 documents retrieved by a search. Even though a search
may retrieve more than fifty documents, the Bar Chart will only
display the score for the top 50. The top-ranked document is
given a score of 100. All other documents are scored in
relation to that top document. The Probable Relevance Ranking
of retrieved documents may be deactivated by selecting the Rank
Documents option on the Set Menu found on the Options Pulldown
    Menu.

The List Window is also organized according to the Probable
Relevance Ranking of retrieved documents. If you browse through
a set of retrieved documents in rank order, documents will be
sequentially displayed in the Document Window according to the
    Probable Relevance Ranking.

Ranking Information for the document displayed in the Document
Window appears on the Status Line, which is located on the dark
line right under the Pulldown Menu Line at the top of the
screen. By reading the ranking information, (Rank: 14 of 103)
you can determine the number of documents located in the search
(In this instance 103) and the rank of the current document
appearing in the Document Window (In this instance 14).
