Fractal Storage:

A more conceptually sophisticated common denominator for
information storage that combines attributes of traditional
systems and contemporary technologies would be a numeric data
structure capable of reducing data (images, text, whole computer
programs, etc.) to a fractal equation. The concise formula that
describes the data structure could then be stored on archivally
stable paper, film, or disks. Ted Nelson is conducting research
in this area with the development of the Xanadu System (see
Section 5.2.9).
