Preservation Education:

Cultural resources can be tools for learning the basic skills of
language and literacy, and can be effective vehicles for
developing conceptual thought processes. Cultural literacy
itself is critical to comprehending the context of contemporary
local, national, and international issues. Cultural literacy can
provide the necessary foundation for an informed electorate, and
as a consequence, a more vital and representative democracy
capable of guarding against the misuse and abuse of information
technologies.
