WATERS Global Server - Install Local Client
Getting the WWW Client
In order to use WATERS, you need database access software.
The recommended interface is
NCSA's
Mosaic,
(or other World-Wide Web browser).
The World-Wide Web (WWW) is a
distributed hypermedia information system running on the Internet,
which has been selected to provide access
to the technical reports stored in the database.
NCSA supports Mosaic on X-based workstations, Apple
Macintosh PCs, and MS-DOS PCs.
These can be retrieved from
ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu:/Web.
Getting the Document Viewers
The documents in the WATERS database are of many different
types. At the minimum, you should have software to preview
PostScript, TIFF and DVI files.
Appropriate software for Unix systems can be found in
ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu:/Web/Mosaic-viewers.
