Ed Fox will be the lead for Virginia Tech in the ITIC, while Scott Midkiff will organize the Northern Virginia activities. 2.) Ed Fox and Scott Midkiff should be the people on the Governing Board. 3.) The group seemed to agree that we should be establishing a University Center for VT ITIC administration. Sherry Burlingame will provide information on current and proposed policies for University Centers. 4.) Meetings will occur weekly 9:30-10:30 on Thursdays. Jeff Crowder will determine the best location. [Note: This has resulted in choice of McB 104c - Ed.] 5.) Bill Tranter will organize and schedule a local Virginia Tech seminar, trying to include the Northern Virginia contingent as much as possible. He should generate a list of possible topics (everyone should provide him with ideas), use multicast video teleconferencing technologies suggested by Jeff Crowder, and arrange the first one in September that might be a session on LMDS offerred by Judy Lilly, Charles Bostian, et al. 6.) Everyone should respond to the questions posed by Ed Fox: - How do we become flexible and responsive to requests that come in for the ITIC? - What type of formal/financial support does each of us need to handle requests for proposals, requests for assistance and sudden opportunities? 7.) Tom Caruso will gather information about the expertise and interests of the ITIC members, as well as the broader group of people at Virginia Tech interested in Internet-related activities. 8.) Tom Caruso requested that everyone provide him with a list of the programs that the ITIC might be able to help them develop. He will provide the list for discussion at the next meeting. 9.) Anne Moore will talk with Harris Miller, Executive Director of the Internet Technology Association of America, about the best organizations to join, conferences to attend, and ways to get the word out about ITIC. 10.) We have two projects developing that have a relationship to ITIC: Litton Network Access Systems establishing a research and development office in the VT Corporate Research Center, and a Litton Polyscientific project described by Scott Midkiff. 11.) We should have companies that are interested in ITIC contact Alf Weaver until the liaison position is filled.
