Searching documents, displaying documents, and Listing initial field contents can each be controlled from a field specific standpoint. To open the Fields option, move your mouse pointer to the Fields option on the Options Pulldown Menu and click. This action will open the Fields Dialog Box. Next, select the present database in the Open Database Area by clicking on the name corresponding to the current database. This activates the Field Fields Status Box. To modify a filed's settings, move your mouse pointer to the field to be modified and click. You will then notice that one or more transparent boxes in the Field Status Box may contain a large "X". If a setting contains an "X", this means that the selected field is turned on for the respective option(s). To modify one or more settings for a field, move your mouse pointer to each setting and toggle each on or off by clicking. Next, move your mouse pointer to the Change Field Button and click. You must click on the Change Field Button after you have selected the settings for a field and before moving on to modifying the settings for another field. When this process is complete, move your mouse pointer to the OK Button and click. Clicking on the OK Button initiates the changes, closes the Fields Dialog Box, and updates the Document Window, and, if appropriate, the List Window.
