The Master Gardener Handbook Description: A gardening text developed in the Horticulture Department at VPI&SU for the training of Master Gardeners, an Extension Service volunteer program. Subjects covered include botany, soils, entomology, plant pathology, diagnostics, pesticides, propagation, pruning, indoor plants, vegetables, fruits, lawns, woody plants, herbaceous plants, landscaping, and volunteers. This material has been compiled, with permission, from the Northern Virginia Master Gardener Handbook, the Utah Master Gardener Handbook, and the Georgia Master Gardener Handbook as well as from many Extension publications of Virginia and other states. The Master Gardener Handbook can be accessed using either Personal Librarian (with graphics) or Window Book (with or without graphics). Retrieval using Personal Librarian is based on Boolean logic with full text keyword search. Retrieval using Window Book is based on a "hypertext" retrieval system, allowing the user to follow cross-references to related information. Note that the "Figure" command in Personal Library for displaying graphic images will work correctly only with the next version of MicroSoft Extension for the CDROM.
