University of Maryland CVL Images \down\graphic There are 2 directories, progs for programs and pics for pictures. Both were developed at the Univ. of Maryland in the laboratory for computer vision and have been provided by Dr. Clifford Shaffer, Dept. of Computer Science, VPI&SU (formerly at U. Maryland). The pictures include over 200 images for researchers, along with image headers, including stereo pairs, mug shots, textures, aerial photos. They are stored in the variety of subdirectories under pics. The directory names indicate the various sources and types. The programs were written in C for a VAX and can run under UNIX in that environment if properly built. They require porting to other environments. Please read the file readme.cs4 for information, but do not use it as-is in that location; you will need to copy the make files and set up links to the CD-ROM or copy everything desired to a new location for changing and compiling. Nevertheless, even if not usable, the routines provide insight into the format and usage of the files. Use of these materials should be in accord with the policies of the University of Maryland.
